Happy Job Club – Kind Co-Working for Job Seekers

Job hunting can be difficult, especially if you don’t have a support network to cheer you on. That was exactly how I was feeling, so I decided to create a communal support network for job seekers like me! Our brain’s natural wiring tells us to focus on the negatives, but we can counteract that with mindful kindness and gratitude! Join me for this  positive co-working space to uplift your mindset and stay focused on your goals. I’m trialing it at the moment to gauge demand, and will be offering it Mondays and Fridays, so that we start and end the week with some great energy, encouraging each other and feeling the kindness come back to us! 

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS SIMPLY A CO-WORKING SPACE WHERE YOU DO YOUR OWN JOB SEARCH ACTIVITIES – I AM A JOB SEEKER TOO, SO MY TIME WILL BE SPENT LOOKING FOR WORK AND AS SUCH I WON’T BE ABLE TO OFFER ADVICE, ONLY SUPPORT AND KINDNESS THROUGH THE BRIEF ACTIVITIES BELOW:

Everything is optional, so if you just want to show up at whatever time you like and get on with your job seeking activities with your mic and camera off, you’re still very welcome.

Brief but Positive Activities (all are optional except the kind reminders):

  • Warm welcome: Invitation to briefly check in, share how you are and what you’re looking for.
  • Positive Intention Setting & Focus Exercise: A short mind, body and optionally spiritual practice to set us up for the best possible session.
  • 25 minute Kind Reminders: Mindful Self-care is really important, especially when doing something challenging, so every 25 minutes I’ll ping a bell or other sound and unmute myself to remind us all to take some mindful movement, grab some refreshment and basically top up our energy in a kind way, whatever that means for each of us! The kind reminders are a good time to silently reconnect with the group by waving or giving a thumbs up after each reminder, but only if you feel like it. If you’re not feeling like smiling, then please type into the chat and whoever is able to, can give you some kind encouragement.
  • Warm exit: Invitation to share how the session was for you, and a brief exercise to send out kindness and gratitude to everyone in the group for sharing the space and wishing them well on their job search.

Please note that the rest of the time, we will all be muted to allow everyone to continue with their own Job search.

Please register via the Zoom link in advance so that I know who’s coming. I promise to only email you about this service, especially if I need to cancel due to an inundation of job interviews (hehe!), or for self-care purposes.
